An Orwellian concept album was not what Black Veil Brides initially had in mind for its third album, according to frontman Andy Biersack.
Biersack tells Billboard that the Los Angeles rockers were "six songs into" their third album by the spring of 2012, but were troubled. "Honestly, it just wasn't feeling right," Biersack recalls. "Nothing we were writing or doing felt like it was all that different. It felt like a very logical follow-up to our previous album (2011's 'Set the World on Fire'), which is what I WASN'T interested in doing."
Coming back from playing some festivals in Europe, however, Biersack began writing a short story about a group of rebels battling a futuristic religious/political autocracy, and after a meeting with producer John Feldmann the idea for "Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones" -- which comes out Jan. 8 -- was hatched.
Andy talked with Billboard about how the idea for Wretched and Divine came to be, the film Legion of the Black, and the Church of the Wild Ones tour. Read the full interview HERE.

So far the only showings that have been announced for "Legion Of The Black" are these ones in New York and the showing in Los Angeles in December. BBC Newsbeat posted a short description from Andy of the Wretched And Divine story. Here's what he said about it:
"The story follows this group of outcast leaders, rebels, through their journey to defeat this fear, which is an acronym for every and all religion," he said. "There's this unified church government. Their sole goal is to remove all science and creativity and original thought from society, yet de-evolve things a little bit and make it darkness. "The idea of fear and shadows play a large role and how people can escape from their own fears." You can read the whole article here, he also said a bit about the upcoming movie, Legion Of The Black. |
